Which Side Are You On? [12.]

Talk of autonomy
won't work here.

There's just
this kid fidgeting
in the cheaper seats

with the lights going down
all over.

  1. Perhaps better to see only the light that seeps in between the fingers held over the eyes.

    Autonomy, another bit of dead intellectual mythology.

    As the long day closes, all the seats look cheap.

    But, on the brighter side (said Sam Smiles)... where there's fidgeting, there's hope.

  2. It was a strange thing, to write that sentence. It was a word that used to have a magic force for me.

    It is a hope, knowing the prescribed shape of life doesn't fit.
