Ante Meridiem

There's a rose garden over
the fence, heads heavy with petals browning

Tiny dogs shit jewel heaps

B&B lads share sticky beer
juridical sunshine viciousness

A breath is a thought gone
out to evaporate

No more amens

Dust
veils
hang

  1. The late summer doldrums (or dog days), from which spirit leaks out as air from a deflated ball.
    This bit esp. quite fine:

A breath is a thought gone
    out to evaporate

    No more amens

  2. Thanks, Tom.

Our heat here, getting sickly now, is looking to break hard at the weekend. Until then the dust coats everything.
